some of my most recent work...

games + jams

I have developed projects in Rust (Bevy) and C# (Unity) from start to finish. Some of these projects were collaborations with other developers.

Mountains of Valoria

A 2.5D platforming game I worked on with a small startup. I developed the user interface and an animated character for this project, this included 2D and 3D animation, texturing, rigging, shader graph, postprocessing and shaders.

Synapse

During the summer of 2023, I undertook a personal project aimed at showcasing my coding skills in virtual reality gaming and 3D modelling following my graduation. This was created using the Unity game engine.

No Loose Threads

Prototype for a fun puzzle game. I developed the art assets and assisted with development. We came #7 in Presentation for Bevy Game Jam #4 - That's a LOT of Entities! and are in the top 20 most popular for The Case of the Thinky Game Jam

Gardyloo

Text-Based Adventure Game I made in Unity. This was a practical way of learning about flexible architecture. This is an example of a workflow for authoring game content using the Delegate Pattern.

Mole Rancher Remastered

Remastered prototype of Mole Rancher, a game released one year prior. The aim of this project was to demonstrate personal advancement in asset development skills. This used the Bevy game engine in the Rust programming language.

A High Stakes Affair

A submission for the Bevy Game Jam #3 - Side Effects placing 12th in presentation of 78 entries. This game was a fun opportunity to try some illustration for assets.

Mole Rancher

A submission for the Bevy Game Jam #2 - COMBINE placing 5th overall of 84 entries. This was a fun project and was my introduction to Bevy and the Rust coding language.

Baby Bento Courier

A final year project that involved level design, character modelling and game development. This was a short 3D game with VR/PC cross-compatibility.

Interstitial

This game is my submission in the Now Play This 2024 festival. It centres on environmental design and player experience. Interstitial was developed with different types of monitors in consideration but was intended to be played on a CRT TV. This was created using the Unity game engine.

3D Modelling

The following are photos that I felt highlight my 3D modelling ability. I have predominantly used Blender however have experience with Solidworks, 3ds Max & Autodesk Inventor.

Dissertation

This research aimed to investigate whether simulations of workplace fire scenarios can improve fire safety skills.

Fire Marshal Training VR

This was the main part of my dissertation project where I explored how virtual reality technology can be utilised for training and simulating fire marshal techniques. This was created using the Unity game engine.
